Funding and Accountability of Health Service Providers

The Mississauga Halton LHIN develops innovative and collaborative solutions to improve and sustain the health care system for our patients and communities. We work with:

  • Two hospital corporations, spanning six sites
  • 33 community support service providers
  • 28 long-term care homes
  • 10 mental health and addiction service providers
  • 1 Community Health Centre

Ontario's LHINs are required under the Local Health Services Integration Act, 2006, to negotiate service accountability agreements (SAAs) with the health service providers (HSPs) they fund.

In fiscal 2016, the LHIN had authorization to allocate funding of $1,458,106,534 to the various HSPs in its geographic area. The LHIN approved transfer payments to the various sectors in fiscal 2016 as follows:
